I’d been living in my house 8 months and in my room there was a bit of wood chip wallpaper that wasn’t on properly. One day I decided that enough was enough and I had an overwhelming urge to start decorating. So before I’d even bought a roller I checked the part of the wallpaper that was hanging off it seemed OK enough underneath and with one swift movement I pulled the strip of wallpaper off. It tore all the way up the wall and pulled some ceiling paper off. I hadn’t really planned on the ceiling getting damaged in anyway so when it happened I was mortified I hadn’t thought about it prior to tearing the wallpaper off. But whats done is done, I said to myself I sat down and thought about all the stuff I need.
I hadn’t done anything like this before so I wasn’t 1o0% sure what I needed but one thing I knew was a must was a wallpaper steamer. Although the first bit had come off easily I knew the rest wasn’t coming off without a fight. Other things I guessed I needed were:
- Skimmer tool
- Base paint
- Paint Brushes
I was taken to Homebase originally and spent over 2 hours looking at paint. Yes, 2 whole hours looking through those little booklets they put on the paint shelves where they make every room look amazing. You look at them and think you would like them all. However, I made my mind up on Overtly Olive (with a little help from someone who shall remain nameless). But I would buy it later as we had a Birmingham Christmas market to go and enjoy! But I manage to buy a wallpaper steamer. The process of decoration had begun.
